The Downlow Chicken Shack Unveils New Menu Items

The GOODS from The Downlow Chicken Shack

Vancouver, BC | Starting Tuesday, January 22, 2019, The Downlow Chicken Shack (905 Commercial Drive), Vancouver’s Nashville Hot Chicken destination, is spicing up its menu with brand new combos, chicken options, sides, and house-made sweet tea.

“We’ve received such amazing support since we first opened this summer,” says Doug Stephen, who co-owns The Downlow Chicken Shack with Lindsey Mann. “Many of our customers mentioned they wanted to see combos and more options with our signature fried chicken batter. Last month, we slowly unveiled a series of new fried chicken flavours and the reception has been nothing short of incredible. We look forward to seeing even more guests, both new and old, trying these creations.”

The new Downlow Chicken Shack combos allow customers to try a bit of everything. From two pieces of boneless thighs and a side ($12), The Sando and a side ($16), to the Two by Four with four boneless thighs and two sides ($22), and the Piled High with 10 boneless thighs and four sides ($44), these options are great for one or parties.

New chicken flavours are being incorporated right onto the menu, including The Jerk, The Lemon Pepper, The Rookie, and The Cannibal Lector sandwich with original fried chicken crispy chicken skin and fried egg (pictured above). Other options include special add-ons such as JN & Z bacon strips, real Canadian cheddar cheese, and fried egg on any chicken order.

“We love fried chicken and we think much of Vancouver does too,” adds Stephen. “They embraced Nashville Hot Chicken and are definitely ready for more. Our goal is the same as before – we want DL to be the destination for fried chicken in the city.”

The Downlow Chicken Shack recently started brunch service with a fried chicken and waffles special, featuring cheddar scallion waffles, two boneless thighs, and smoked jalapeno honey mayo sauce, available every Saturday and Sunday. Chicken tenders are also a permanent fixture on the menu. For more information, please visit
