About La Grotta Del Formaggio

Domenico Bruzzese and Sandra Raines are the next generations to take over their family business of over 40 years; the Commercial Drive institution which is La Grotta Del Formaggio.

Their father, Fortunato Bruzzese, born and raised in the small village of Mammola in Southern Italy, brought with him to Canada a love and respect for the foods that he left behind and, in 1977, opened a small Italian deli filled with specialty cheeses, meats, and grocery.

Still situated in the heart of Vancouver’s ‘Little Italy’, this favourite deli continues to supply Vancouverites with high quality specialty foods and the most famous panini in the city.

Over the years, the company has expanded to include Importing and Wholesale Distribution through their warehouse, supplying many of the top restaurants, hotels, and other retailers throughout British Columbia. Their newest addition is a distribution center located in Toronto Ontario, where they can now supply their great product lines across the country.

On top of this, they also have added a Catering division to their business which provides traditional readymade meals, party platters, as well as lasagnas and arancini, just to name a few.

Currently there are more exciting things in the works set for the near future of this long-standing business, which hopes to continue growing for another 40 years to come.
