Food Network Stars to Cook Up ‘As Seen on TV’ Collaborative Feast at Fable Diner

The GOODS from Fable Diner

Vancouver, BC | Three Food Network Canada celebrity chefs and real-life friends will team up for one night only on Monday, December 9 to host a special ‘As Seen on TV’ collaboration dinner at Fable Diner in Vancouver’s iconic Lee Building.

Fable Diner head chef Josef Driemel, who stepped into the spotlight earlier this year to showcase his signature cooking techniques on Food Network Canada’s long-running Diners, Drive-ins and Dives series, will open up his kitchen next month to share the line with fellow Vancouver chefs Mark Singson (Top Chef Canada, season 6 runner up) and Max Straczek (Top Chef Canada, season 7 participant) as they work together to prepare a series of dynamic diner-inspired dishes.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., guests will be invited to mix and mingle while snacking on a variety of elevated diner classics prepared by each of the Food Network Canada celebrity chefs. As the sit-down meal begins at 7 p.m., each of the small-screen stars will trade off to showcase their own signature take on elevated comfort food through four delectable courses. Menu highlights will include beef carpaccio with savoury jam, candied salmon with cream cheese foam and ‘everything bagel’ tuile, and sous-vide brisket served over sour cabbage with mustard and celeriac puree.

Singson made his mark on the Vancouver culinary scene as the opening chef at AnnaLena, helping the Kitsilano restaurant earn sixth place on enRoute magazine’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants list in 2015 before branching out to further flex his culinary talents by hosting a series of gastronomic pop-up events and private dinners under his FAM Inc. label. A classically trained chef, Straczek earned his culinary chops at the helm of a number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and notable Vancouver dining rooms before he was appointed head chef at Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar in Vancouver’s West End earlier this year.
