Bauhaus Chef David Mueller to Help Raise Money for Important Culinary Skills Program

The GOODS from Bauhaus

Vancouver, BC | Chef David Mueller from Bauhaus Restaurant joins Social Crust Cafe to help raise money for an important Culinary Skills program that offers youth recovering from mental illness or with other barriers to employment with training, coaching, and work experience so that they can enter the labor force or continue further culinary schooling.

On Tuesday, April 9th Chef David Mueller will host a unique collaboration fundraising dinner at Social Crust Café & Catering to help raise awareness and money for their Coast Mental Health Culinary Skills Training and Café Training Programs.

Three times a year, the organization partners with renowned chefs to bring awareness to young adults recovering from mental health and employment barriers and highlight how our distinctive programs are helping change lives.

Featuring a 4-course menu specially crafted by Chef David Mueller, with the help of students from the Coast Mental Health Culinary Program assisting in the preparation and service for the event. This opportunity also allows students to be a part of putting together an evening of incredible food and showcase the skills they gained from our training programs.

Chef Mueller is a prime example of homegrown talent. Born in British Columbia, Chef Mueller has honed his skills in Vancouver working in some of the top restaurants over the last decade. Before joining Bauhaus, Chef Mueller worked with some culinary legends: at the Eldorado Hotel alongside Food Network Chef Michael Lyons and former Five Diamond Eden Chef Justin Best, Chef Marc Lepine of Atelier, and with Chef Lee Parsons of the Diamond Award-winning Wedgewood Hotel.

For Chef Mueller, cooking is an art form that is best appreciated when all five senses are balanced. He combines local, high-quality ingredients and masterful technique to achieve sublime flavours, aromas, and a visual appeal that will leave you wanting more.

“One of the many benefits of a top chef’s coming into donating their time is working with our students one on one and Chef Mueller is no exception. When our students have the opportunity to be exposed to professional, excellent dining techniques from top chef’s like Chef Mueller it is invaluable. Allowing them to be hands-on participants on this special evening helps them develop confidence and curiosity.”

The entire evening is made possible by sponsors. The Guest Chef Night directly supports young adults in our training programs with all proceeds from every event going towards helping cover some of the programs’ costs such as team-building outings with students or purchasing supplies for new cohorts.
