Top Chefs Gather For An Evening In The Orchard To Celebrate Sole Food Farms

What Michael Ableman has been able to do with Sole Food Farms is fantastic. The urban agriculture project has generated positive social change and impacted our city for the greater good since its launch in 2009, providing jobs, training, and a community for Vancouverites who suffer from mental illness and struggle with addiction, not to mention delicious produce for many of our better restaurants. We are thrilled about the coming of Abelman’s new book, Street Farm: Growing Food, Jobs, and Hope on the Urban Frontier, and looking forward to the upcoming dinner that will mark its launch. Featuring the kitchen crews of Hawksworth, Bishop’s, Farmer’s Apprentice, Savio Volpe, Homer Street Café, and Burdock & Co., the celebratory feast is set for the evening of October 6th. In addition to the multi-course feast, attendees will receive a free copy of the book, with proceeds from the event going directly to helping keep the urban farm alive and flourishing.
