This upcoming event in Gastown sounds especially fun, and it’s going to sell out fast. You better pounce on tickets quick if you’re a fan of the emotive lads from Manchester…

Hello Romantics!

There is a light that never goes out for our love of The Smiths. On March 24th, Rain City Chronicles is back and teaming up with Here There for our first, ever Record Club featuring one of our favourite albums of all time, The Smiths’ The Queen is Dead.

Hosted by CBC Radio’s Lisa Christiansen and our very own Lizzy Karp, The Record Club is a storytelling night that hits repeat on some of the best personal stories inspired by The Smiths, told live. For all the sleepless nights we’ve spent staring up at the ceiling wondering how it all went wrong, The Smiths’ The Queen is Dead has been the soundtrack to our woes. Whether you’re the boy with the thorn in his side or you’ve been caught crying your eyes out to “I Know It’s Over”, we’re revisiting some of our favourite true stories inspired by Moz and the gang.

If you’re a long time fan of Rain City Chronicles, the format will be familiar. The night kicks off with a happy hour, listening party of the album followed by an evening of stories with a musical guest. Subscribers get first dibs and tickets are available now.

So, let’s go where we’re happy and we’ll we meet you at the cemetery gates!

Lizzy & Kem
