Origo Club Welcomes Cioppino’s Pino Posteraro for Alba White Truffle Dinner on December 15

Richmond, BC | The team at Origo Club will welcome Pino Posteraro, Chef/Owner of Vancouver’s Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill & Enoteca for an exclusive Alba White Truffle Dinner showcasing the Italian delicacy at the Richmond dining destination on Sunday, December 15.

Beginning at 6 p.m., Posteraro and Origo Club Chef David Pan will trade talents as they each prepare three courses that feature the aromatic and revered trifola d’Alba Madonna (‘Truffle of the White Madonna’) as the centerpiece. Found mainly in northern Italy’s Piedmont region, the white truffles are highly prized and some of the most valuable on the market, especially as the 2019 crop is being recognized as one of the highest-quality harvests in memory.

Each course will be paired with an impressive selection of wines from Barolo’s famed G.D. Vajra estate, where Origo Club Managing Partner and wine connoisseur Woody Wu recently visited to taste through the portfolio of wines with the founding Vajra family to hand select them for this dinner.

The Italian-born Posteraro worked in a number of acclaimed restaurants in Europe and Singapore before opening Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill & Enoteca in 1999. Since then the restaurant has been recognized multiple times on the prestigious annual ranking of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants — most recently earning the No. 34 spot on the 2019 list — and last year Posteraro was named a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy, becoming the first chef in Canada to receive the honour.
