School’s definitely out for summer, but on July 25th David Thompson Secondary School will nevertheless be attracting a keen crowd for the annual Schoolyard Harvest Dinner. The al fresco long table event is hosted by Fresh Roots, a local non-profit organization providing hands-on food education through its various initiatives, including after-school gardening clubs and a summer youth employment program.
Guests will be treated to a multi-course feast featuring a bunch of schoolyard-grown ingredients. (Whatever isn’t sourced directly from their own farms will be provided by Fresh Roots’ farmer friends.) For the second year in a row, Chefs Karima Chellouf and Kym Nguyen are teaming up in the kitchen to create a collaborative menu. Besides a spectacular meal, the ticket price ($155 per person) includes an open bar of free-flowing wine, 33 Acres beer and Brew Dr. kombucha.
Happening at the peak of summer with all proceeds directly benefiting Fresh Roots, this is one exceptional dining experience with effects that will long outlast the one (albeit memorable) night. Get your tickets here now!
