Analog Vinyl Fair Combines Vinyl, Food and Beer for a Great Night Out in New West

The GOODS from Steel & Oak

New Westminster, BC | On Friday, November 2nd from 7:00-11:00 pm, record labels, collectors, and vinyl lovers from across Metro Vancouver will gather in New Westminster for an evening of music, food, beer and vinyl. Launched by Steel & Oak Brewing Co. and the Arts Council of New West in the fall of 2016, the fourth edition of Analog Vinyl Fair takes place again at River Market in the food hall at 810 Quayside Drive.

Award-winning restaurant Longtail Kitchen will be open for the evening featuring a special menu with vinyl sales beginning at 7:00 pm onwards.

“Vinyl has always been something tangible and real to enjoy. With these events we’re always trying to bring people together over that shared passion and love for music and community. At the end of a work week I think people are going to enjoy a cathartic evening of flipping through records surrounded by amazing music, good food and quality beer” says Jorden Foss co-owner of Steel & Oak Brewing Co.

Adding to the evening of thumbing through vinyl and sipping craft beer, the Arts Council of New West is featuring the Patrick Kao trio, with a DJ spinning a few eclectic vinyl only mixes between their sets.

In addition to popular returning vendors Scrape and Highlife Records are a handful of collectors and new recruits Apato Rekodo who specialize in hard to find Japanese pressings as well as new and used jazz and hip-hop.

“The Arts Council has been more and more involved in community programming over the past few years and this event is such a fun one to pull together. It’s great to see people connect over the shared love for vinyl and how finding a unique gem or taking the chance on a $1 find can get people going.” says Stephen O’Shea of the Arts Council of New Westminster.

Steel & Oak will also be releasing a new beer for the event called First Press – a coffee stout, brewed especially for the event. “We’ve teamed up with Timbertrain to brew a dark chocolatey stout with roasted coffee notes and enough caffeine to make sure you can keep digging till the end of Analog.” says Foss.

Analog: Vinyl Fair hits River Market at 810 Quayside Drive, Friday November 2nd 7-11pm.
