The GOODS from Virtuous Pie

Vancouver, BC | Virtuous Pie is celebrating the launch of patio season with a special taco pop-up party. The popular plant-based restaurant, best known for its artisanal pizzas and ice cream, will be featuring house-made tacos at its Wesbrook UBC location from 3 p.m. until closing. Other patio-inspired offerings will be available at the Chinatown location for the entire day.

“Vancouverites love tacos, and so do we,” says Jim Vesal, Director of Culinary and Business Development. “We’ve done our Los Tacos Pizza before, and that was super popular, but never tacos themselves. We thought it would be a fun way to kick off patio season and celebrate our new location.”

The day marks the official opening of the Wesbrook locale’s patio, a 215 square-foot space with seating for 27. The fully-covered patio area also features overhead heat lamps, ensuring year-round comfort. The sliding garage door connecting the patio to the restaurant interior creates the feeling of an even more expansive outdoor space.

“When the sun comes out, it’s a sprint to the nearest patio. There aren’t many in the UBC area, so we’re pretty excited to be able to offer this great new space to our guests,” says Lia Loukas, Virtuous Pie’s Director of Marketing and Business Development.

UBC Wesbrook Village Location Specials | In addition to the regular food and beverage menu, two kinds of plant-based tacos will be available: The Smoky Chicken Taco with Beyond Meat Chicken marinated in a tomato chipotle sauce, green cabbage, house made feta, avocado lime drizzle, and cilantro, and The Steak Taco, with steak curls, house-made mozza, sautéed green peppers and onion, and chimichurri. Both tacos can be ordered gluten-free. Buckets of Dead Frog Lager, Hibiscus Margaritas, White Wine Sangria by the glass and the pitcher, and music by Roka Music round out the celebratory offerings.

Chinatown Location Specials | Tacos will not be available at Virtuous Pie’s Chinatown location. Instead, the popular Los Tacos Pizza will be making a special one-day only return. Los Tacos toppings include San Marzano tomato sauce, chipotle crumble, corn, bean, pickled red onion, avocado lime drizzle, Valentina (hot sauce) and taco veg. Customers will be able to enjoy the White Wine Sangria at this location as well.
