Vancouver, BC | On Monday, October 31st, Tofino’s award winning The Pointe Restaurant at the Wickaninnish Inn, led by Chef Warren Barr, takes over the kitchen at Kitsilano’s Fable Restaurant.

The Wickaninnish Inn and its fine dining restaurant The Pointe has been a must-visit Tofino destination since opening in 1996. With its dedication to local sourcing on both land and sea and outstanding execution of dishes utilizing the natural bounty surrounding the Inn, The Pointe has become a culinary destination on its own.

Executive Chef Warren Barr joined The Pointe Restaurant in 2010. He began his culinary journey at Le Crocodile as an apprentice, graduating to the position of Chef de Partie in three years. Chef Barr spent five summers as the Executive Chef of Prince Edward Island’s The Inn at Bay Fortune, which is recognized for its farm-to-table cuisine. Winters were spent in the kitchens of some of Montreal’s critically acclaimed eateries, including Café Ferreira and Restaurant XO at Hotel Saint-James. His appreciation of a European approach to cuisine stems from an early career season at Auberge Des Chasseurs in the French Jura.

Tickets for this special dinner are $65 (plus tax & gratuity). Beverages are sold separately. Seating is from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, as per arranged reservation time. Tickets can be purchased directly from Fable at 604-732-1322 or via email food [at] fablekitchen.ca. The menu will be revealed shortly before the evening of the event to ticket holders.

ABOUT Fable

interior-kwood

Fable is a farm to table restaurant in the heart of Kitsilano. Born from Chef Trevor Bird’s experience on Season Two of Top Chef Canada and the ‘Restaurant Wars” episode, Fable opened in 2012.

Product arrives daily from local farms resulting in a constantly evolving menu. Fable’s garden and bee hives on the roof top supplement this local fare. All food is made fresh for every service using expert cooking technique and delivered to our guests in a professional and unpretentious atmosphere.

An open kitchen at the front of the room showcases the talented team in our kitchen; this seating right in front of the kitchen line (the “chef’s table”) is the favorite spot of many regulars.

An award winning wine list and house cocktails focusing on local distillers compliment the menu.
