Gastown’s La Mezcaleria Announces Mexican Feast on New Year’s Eve

The GOODS from La Mezcaleria

Vancouver, BC | Vancouver’s most authentic Mexican restaurant, La Mezcaleria, is cooking up special celebratory plates for New Year’s Eve. Only available at the Gastown location, dishes can be ordered as the full four-course set menu for $65, or guests can choose plates a la carte. In addition to the New Year’s dishes, the everyday menu will continue to be served.

Using bright and complex flavours from her home country of Mexico, Chef Mariana Gabilondo is preparing four courses, including a refreshing salad, seafood and meat mains, and dessert. Wake up your taste buds with Arugula, Mint and Basil Salad with Pineapple and Mango Crisps with Tamarind Dressing, then dive into Pink Swimming Scallops steamed in Blackened Chili Lime Broth. The meat course is a rich Sour Orange Roasted Duck stuffed with Pork Belly, best followed
by a refreshing dessert of Crème Brulée Ice Cream with Roasted Pumpkin Seed Wafers. Choose one or two dishes, or embrace the evening’s celebratory spirit by ordering the full menu.

New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be complete without something to sip, and La Mezcaleria’s bar team will be on hand to recommend high-end tequilas and mezcals, or to mix the perfect cocktail so you and your table can raise a toast at midnight.

Don’t forget to bring your friends! From 11pm onward, join La Mezcaleria as it amps things up with live music by DJ H.O.T., a project by Mexican musician El Garzita, with a one-of-a-kind sound inspired by modern and retro dance music.

Multiple seating times are available. For more information or to book a reservation, please visit www.lamezcaleria.ca/reservations-gastown.

About La Mezcaleria

dish2

La Mezcaleria serves authentic Mexican food in Gastown and on Commercial Drive. Dishes are inspired by different regions in Mexico, and are made using traditional methods with fresh, west coast ingredients. Along with a range of tacos, guests will find traditional staples such as tostadas, flautas, enseladas and share plates with options for gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and carnivorous diets. La Mezcaleria also boasts one of the largest lists of agaves in Vancouver, featuring many rare tequilas and mezcals that can’t be found elsewhere in town. The innovative cocktail list makes use of savoury ingredients, like cilantro, serrano pepper and blue corn, as much as sweet, fruity flavours.

Brunch is served at both locations on Saturday and Sunday, and a daily Happy Hour sees feature drinks and snacks at reduced prices.
