Fraserhood’s Bells and Whistles Plans ‘Big Night at the Oscars’ for February 24th

The GOODS from Bells and Whistles

Vancouver, BC | And the Oscars go to… Bells and Whistles!

The award-winning Fraserhood hangout will host a live ‘Big Night at the Oscars’ viewing party featuring big-screen surround sound and prizes during the 91st annual Academy Awards broadcast on Sunday, February 24 at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $10 per person and offer the full red-carpet treatment with popcorn, a paparazzi-inspired photo booth, prizes for best-dressed guest and an advance voting ballot listing the nominees in all 24 major categories from Best Picture to Original Song and even Costume Design.

The cinephile with the most correct categories guessed will win half the pot, with the remainder donated to the BC Hospitality Foundation, a local non-profit organization that provides support for individuals within the hospitality community who are coping with a financial crisis arising from a health or medical condition.

The event — which is co-hosted by Beatroute Magazine — also serves as the official kickoff for Bells and Whistles’ Sunday Night Movie Series, which will premiere in the restaurant’s adjacent group dining space starting the following Sunday, March 3 at 9 p.m. with the showing of the 1991 classic surf-heist movie Point Break. Each Sunday night following, Bells and Whistles will screen a movie at 9 p.m. with regular menu items on offer throughout the night and Happy Hour food and drink specials beginning at 10 p.m.

Bells and Whistles, which marked its first anniversary last fall, was recently singled out as Best New Destination at the 2018 edition of the annual Golden Owl Hospitality Awards, which honour the best of Vancouver’s restaurant and bar scene.

TICKETS | A limited number of tickets for the Big Night at the Oscars viewing party are available at bellsandwhistlesyvr.ca. After purchasing tickets, attendees will be emailed Oscar ballots that must be completed and returned to Bells and Whistles by February 22 in order to be eligible for prizes.
