Meditate In Tight Spaces, Chill Out & Cleanse With ‘The Social Yoga’ Through April

The GOODS from Social Yoga

Vancouver, BC | The Social Yoga recently launched their online platform (aka blog) – Social Yoga Online. It’s their virtual studio, so expect to get inspired with anything and everything from cool shit, words of wisdom, yoga poses for specific life events (like that time you woke up hungover after what you promised would be just two drinks), recipes, and playlists for the bedroom.

If you want to make it in for some real-time real-talk and yoga, check out their April lineup here:

Monday Nights | 7-9PM | Juice Truck Storefront

They’re going back to the beginning with their Straight Social Series. This is their signature class and how they started. Two hour, workshop-style, bespoke yoga class with more time to get to know the people you’re with and a chance to dig a little deeper and get to know yourself. Move. Connect. Dig Deep.

Tuesday Nights | 7-8:30PM | The Soap Dispensary

If you’re finally ready to try this meditation thing out, The Social Yoga runs accessible three week series that will help you find the tools to create calm & space when you’re feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place. They’ll break it down, no-nonsense, and leave some time for chats and other fun things in between.

Wednesday nights | 7-9PM | MELU Juice Bar

Back by popular demand, The Social Yoga is pairing up with local acupuncturist Nicole Longstaff to bring their acupuncture yoga series to MELU again. This time, get ready to clear out the winter cobwebs. Acupuncture tacks are used to poke and stimulate certain points in the body. You’ll leave them in for your yoga practice, after which you’ll top it off with a juice. Definitely “not your everyday” yoga class.

Thursday nights | 8-10PM | Float Yaletown

Unwind after a long work week. Join The Social Yoga at Float Yaletown for a yin yoga series. Extra-intimate (6 people max) means you’ll have plenty of juicy hands on adjustments and massages while you’re in the poses. Pair this with a complimentary float included in the series and you’ll leave a little melty, and ready for the weekend.

Sundays | 1:30-3:30PM | Eastside Boxing

Tackle the tough stuff together. Hosted in partnership with All City Athletics, spend four weeks perfecting your punching technique and stretch it out with acro yoga after. Food and bevvies provided after each class to help you fuel up post-workout. No partner required to sign up!

We are a nomadic studio. Breweries, cafes, and galleries are some examples of places we call home. It’s easy to find peace and calm when you’re in the studio-  where’s the zen when you’re in a line for a growler fill on a Friday night? We believe wherever you go, there you are.  And sometimes, it’s better to go where the food is good and the view is fresh.

Check in with our social media feeds to see what we are planning next.

About Social Yoga

Social Yoga was launched at the end of 2014 as an alternative take on a yoga class experience. In a city full of fitness aficionados, we’re taking on yoga in a different way. We aren’t your everyday yoga class. Literally. Classes are organized by the series- meeting once a week for four weeks. This is yoga for the person who isn’t just a “yogi”- we all have lives and other interests too.

Everyone knows, bigger isn’t better. You aren’t just another member number with us. Class sizes are small, intimate, and conversational which means you get to ask questions and call the shots by deciding what it is you want to get out of the experience.

We bring Yoga down to earth and use it as a way to connect people with cool spaces, other cool people, and most importantly, to connect people to themselves. We call it ‘Therapy that Makes you Sweat”.
