Okanagan Falls, BC | The team at Liquidity Wines is celebrating two new additions to their awards shelf granted by the industry’s most prestigious wine excellence programs. In the last month, the winery’s 2015 Chardonnay Estate and 2015 Pinot Noir Estate received top honours in the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine & Spirit Competition, both of which are judged by some of the highest acclaimed sommeliers, wine masters and experts in the industry.

Considered the world’s largest and most prestigious wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards brings together industry stars from across the globe to evaluate and honour the world’s best wines. The selections provide an unrivalled source of wine recommendations for consumers and trade, and are often showcased at Decanter’s in-market tasting events. In the 2017 competition, Liquidity’s 2015 Chardonnay Estate was awarded a bronze medal, and the 2015 Pinot Noir Estate earned a silver medal.

The International Wine & Spirit Competition acknowledges and awards the very best of the world’s wine, spirits and liqueurs. Industry experts test and re-test entries over a seven-month period to ensure a consistent approach to tasting, and assign ratings based on a stringent seven-point checklist followed by a chemical analysis. In the 2017 competition, Liquidity’s 2015 Chardonnay Estate was honoured with a silver medal, and the 2015 Pinot Noir Estate received a bronze medal.

Liquidity’s elegant Chardonnay Estate features aromas of citrus fruit, pear, hazelnut and crème brûlée, lending a creamy palate balanced by tropical pineapple, papaya and mango. The variety perfectly complements grilled salmon, mushroom risotto or a big bowl of buttered popcorn. The earthy Pinot Noir Estate tastes of red cherry, raspberry and blackberry, blackcurrant, baking spice and cola with a hint of vanilla on the finish. Complex enough to be savoured on its own, the wine also pairs well with salmon, mushroom dishes, roast duck and pink peppercorn steak.

The winery occupies a coveted location with an awe-inspiring view of Vaseux Lake in the heart of B.C’s Okanagan Valley – a stunning complement to its award-winning wines. The tasting room doubles as a gallery exhibiting rare art installations, and adjoins the airy Liquidity Bistro – dishing up a locally inspired menu whose ingredients are sourced from neighbouring farms. Liquidity’s property sprawls across 30 acres with vines ranging in age from a 2014 Riesling to 25-year-old Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, adding to the repertoire of Great Wines of the Okanagan™.
