The View Of The City From This East Van Alley

by Michelle Sproule | Though it’s not a typical picture postcard view of Vancouver (in the same way that, say, the vistas from Fairview Slopes or Jericho Beach on the West Side are), this particular East Side vantage point is one of our all-time favourites. You’ll find it on the western mouth of the alleyway off Salsbury Drive, half a block south of East Hastings Street. It’s especially gorgeous when backlit by the sunset, especially when the rays alight on two of the “Three Halfies” of lore and legend (as shown above). Exact coordinates are here.
