Vancouver, BC | On Friday, November 8th the season’s foremost food festival, EAT! Vancouver, will once again be bringing together some of North America’s most acclaimed culinary talents for its one-night-only signature canapé event.

Nine guest chefs and pastry chefs from Newfoundland to Oregon will complete their annual migration to downtown Vancouver to join their Vancouver peers for EAT! Harvest. Over the course of 2.5 hours (7 – 9:30pm) all 15 local and visiting chefs will be sharing their unique culinary interpretations of one common theme: the Fall and Winter’s best ingredients, presented as beautiful bite-sized morsels. This familiar formula is the key to experiencing the most sizeable portion of the festival’s huge amount of talent and tastes all in one lively, grand setting.

For the first time ever, the Vancouver Club will be providing the venue for this year’s Signature Event. The annual food and cooking festival also has a brand new charitable cause: the BC Cancer Foundation. Net proceeds from EAT! Harvest will go directly towards the organization’s research efforts in cancer prevention, treatment and patient quality of life, which means you can treat yourself well and do good for others at the same time.

THE CHEFS

The roster of local chefs involved in this year’s Signature Harvest Event represent some of Greater Vancouver’s most dynamic restaurants gathering together to offer EAT! guests a taste of Vancouver’s diverse food scene. The ‘hometown’ chefs are Brian Luptak (Acorn), Ian McHale (Wildebeest), Ned Bell; (The Vancouver Club), Pino Posteraro (Cioppino’s), Lucais Syme (Autostrada); Josh Gale (theChefOutWest); and Robert Belcham (Campagnolo).

The tally of guest chefs who will be flocking to Vancouver for this special event adds up to eight exceptional men and women from near – Kevin Young (Xoco West Coast Chocolates, Squamish) and Elena Krasnova (Mon Paris, Burnaby) – and far, as in the case of Newfoundland’s Jonathan Gushue (Fogo Island Inn). Completing the list of out of town talent are two Toronto chefs – Carl Heinrich (Richmond Station), and Craig Harding (La Palma) – plus Christine Sanford (Biera Restaurant, Edmonton), Dallah El Chami (Superbaba, Victoria); and Cathy Whims (Nostrana, Portland, Oregon). In addition to an all-star line-up of culinary talent, this signature event also boasts outstanding wine provided by Canned Oregon, Chateau St. Michelle; Columbia Wines; Quilceda Creek; Stoller Family Estate; Vino Casa Smith; Precept Wine; Domaine Drouhin; and Elk Cove Vineyards.
