Giz (also Gizmo) | Nickname | Often employed sobriquet of the prolific, authoritative, and widely respected local wine writer Anthony Gismondi (pronounced with a hard “G”). He apparently hates it, so it’s likely best never to use it when he’s remotely within earshot. Same deal with “Tony”.

Usage: “Giz got me hooked on Rosé last summer…”
