Noob Sticker | A green and white decal placed on the rear of a vehicle to designate new drivers in British Columbia. The “N” stands for “New”, but is commonly translated more colloquially as “Noob” (web-speak for a person who is new at something). Launched in 1998, the mandatory stickers are part of ICBC’s graduated licensing program, which also inflicts a scarlet “L” sticker on vehicles driven by individuals who only have their Learner’s License (unsurprisingly translated respectively as “Loser Sticker” and “Loser’s License”). If a new driver is caught driving without a Noob Sticker, the consequence is a $109 fine.
