New ‘Existential Eating’ Series Launching August 11 in Gastown

Existential Eating is the new project by Heather Dosman (formerly of The Acorn, Farmers Apprentice, Grapes & Soda) that aims to provide a sustainable model of collaboration opportunities for small, independent projects around the city. For their first series, EE will be working along with the good wine-and-food-loving people of Juice Bar, who are relaunching as a permanent evening fixture at the Birds & the Beets on Saturday, August 11th. After the inaugural event, EE will be at Juice Bar every Wednesday to Saturday from 6:30pm to 10:30pm for the months of August and September.

So far, Dosman is planning to kick off the week with a Wednesday plant-based snack bar of her own creation (vegan options available), followed by a $10 pasta night featuring good stuff handmade by either James Frost (previously of La Quercia and Campagnolo Roma) or Shinebox. Fridays and Saturdays will be a rotating showcase of fresh chef talent. So far the calendar for August includes everything from a ceviche party to an (early) “Sunday roast”, Filipino and Iranian snacks, and a night of noodles and dumplings. More details are available and will continue to be updated on the EE’s calendar, which you can check out here.
