Strathcona’s Busy Yolks Eatery Lands New Location At West Broadway & Cambie St.

IMG_0332

Good news for breakfast and brunch lovers: Yolks, the food truck turned wildly successful, day-time only Strathcona restaurant (home of the dizzying truffle-lemon hashbrown skewer), has secured a second location at 546 West Broadway (just off Cambie).

The 1,500 sqft space was left pretty stacked by exiting Sliders, an ill-fated burger joint that lasted a mere 5 months. On my walk-through yesterday I spied lots of hardly used, high grade kitchen equipment; it looked like a turn-key switcheroo but it’s set for a lick of paint, some line rearrangement, and table orientation tweaks. It’s a brand new building with plenty of modern bells and whistles — pretty much the opposite of the original Yolks at Hastings & Clark (the old Brave Bull spot), which is a dilapidated ruin in comparison.

The new location will see a very similar menu to the original, with several new additions, including breakfast burritos, smoothies, fresh juices, and a custom blend of coffee from A.G.R.O. Roasters. Yolks owner Steven Ewing expect to have the fully licensed 50 seater open by Monday, November 16th. Take a look…
