Cibo Trattoria, UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar Get Festive With Special Holiday Events

Vancouver, BC | The countdown to Christmas and New Year’s is underway at Cibo Trattoria and UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar, where special events celebrating the spirit of the season will take centre stage at the duo of downtown dining destinations this December.

The festivities begin on Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 as Executive Chef Curtis Luk hauls in a fresh-caught bounty of seafood during Cibo’s annual ‘Feast of the Seven Fishes’ family style dinners before hosting special à-la-carte New Year’s Eve Dinner services in Cibo’s warm and cozy dining room on Tuesday, December 31.

That same night, Cibo’s sister spot UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar will get revelers in the New Year’s spirit by hosting a Moët & Chandon New Year’s Eve Champagne Party that features an array of cicchetti and small plates paired with a Moët & Chandon Champagne cocktail menu, live entertainment and a Moët & Chandon Champagne sabering competition.

‘FEAST OF THE SEVEN FISHES’

On Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24, guests can once again enjoy Cibo’s annual spin on the Italian ‘Feast of the Seven Fishes’ culinary tradition. For those two evenings only, guests can enjoy a seven-course menu showcasing fresh, local seafood in such dishes as salt cod croquettes (sauce maltaise), caviar capellini (chive crème fraîche), involtini of trout (leek, tomato, celery root purée) and seared octopus (guanciale and chili dressing, caramelized fennel). $89 per person plus tax and gratuity / $59 per person (++) for wine pairings

NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER

On Tuesday, December 31, Cibo Executive Chef Curtis Luk will host a culinary countdown to 2020 that offers a range of à-la-carte menu options including such highlights as crispy duck confit (pickled beets, fries, sherry vinegar gastrique), pan seared dry aged ribeye (lobster hollandaise, panissa, broccolini), root vegetable wellington (truffle reduction, buttered spinach) and passionfruit pavlova (mango sorbet, almond chapeau). Guests will also enjoy live music from vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Layla Vaugeois from 6 p.m. to midnight.

MOËT & CHANDON NEW YEAR’S EVE CHAMPAGNE PARTY

Merrymakers and revelers can kick off the new year in grand style when UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar hosts a gala Moët & Chandon New Year’s Eve Champagne Party on Tuesday, December 31 beginning at 9 p.m. The calendar-flip festivities include snacks and small plates like polpette fritti, roasted eggplant and garlic bruschetta, mushroom arancini and roasted beet tartare in endive as well as a menu of Moët & Chandon Champagne cocktails, a Moët & Chandon Champagne sabering competition in the sabre chamber, an ice luge and live entertainment courtesy of DJ Buddha Sax from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets $30 per person with limited walk-in tickets available at the door for $35 per person
