False Creek Crab Fest Returns July 26th, Celebrating BC’s Sustainable Seafood and Fishing Community

The Goods from Chefs’ Table Society of BC

Vancouver, BC | The BC Crab Fishermen’s Association, in partnership with the Chefs’ Table Society of BC, is proud to announce the return of False Creek Crab Fest on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf.

Returning for its fourth year, the False Creek Crab Fest has become one of Vancouver’s signature summer food celebrations, bringing together seafood lovers, families, and community members for an unforgettable afternoon of West Coast flavour and fun on the waterfront.

At the heart of the festival is BC’s iconic Dungeness Crab, prepared in a delicious crab boil experience created by acclaimed local chefs including Vish Mayekar and Johnny Bridge. Guests will enjoy a whole locally harvested crab paired with BC Craft beverages while taking in the vibrant atmosphere of Vancouver’s working harbour.

Set against the scenic backdrop of False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf, the festival offers guests a rare opportunity to connect directly with local fishers, while enjoying one of Vancouver’s most scenic waterfront views. With live music, games, educational booths, this vibrant outdoor event is fun for all ages.

False Creek Crab Fest is a celebration with purpose. The event not only raises awareness for the sustainable management of British Columbia’s crab fishery but also supports the future of the food and hospitality community. Proceeds help advance initiatives led by Chefs’ Table Society including CTS’s culinary scholarships, mentorships, sustainability projects, and the development of The Commons by CTS – a gathering place dedicated to strengthening BC’s food and hospitality sector.

“Chef Vish & I are super excited to once again support BC’s hardworking Crab Fishers by putting together this Dungeness Crab Boil for guests,” said Johnny Bridge, President of Chefs’ Table Society of BC. “The connection between fishers, chefs and the people enjoying the food is such an important one to us, and Crab Fest is a very special chance to celebrate the folks behind our local food systems and the incredible product coming from our oceans.”

“Events like Crab Fest help bridge the gap between consumers and the people who harvest their food,” said Megan Eadie, Executive Director of BC Crab Fishermen’s Association. “By coming together to enjoy local seafood, we’re also supporting coastal communities, sustainable fishing practices, and the future of BC’s seafood industry.”

Celebrate BC’s fishing heritage, support local harvesters, and savour one of the province’s most beloved seafood traditions. Join us on July 26 at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf for an afternoon of fresh crab, community, and coastal culture.
