Four Fresh Picks from Vessel Liquor This June

The Goods from Vessel Liquor

Victoria, BC | Since opening doors in December 2015, Vessel has become Victoria’s hub for all things wine, beer, spirits, cider, and the conversation and culture surrounding them. Our locally-owned, independent company was built around supporting authentic products and producers, from our BC backyard and from around the globe.

Awarded Best Liquor Store in Victoria (seven times!), Vessel remains even more committed to serving the community. In 2022 we greatly expanded the footprint of our store, allowing for hundreds more listings. And in 2023, we expanded provincially, with an extensive new website and online store, allowing customers from across BC to shop Vessel from home.

Father’s Day is on the horizon, so we’ve gathered some fresh picks for toasting the father figures in your world:

MADE IN BC

Phillips Fermentorium Distilling Co. Sanctuary Signature Edition Single Malt Whisky 2026, Victoria. $79.99

A very special bottle for any very special fellow, this striking single malt is produced from locally grown barley that is malted on site, and matured in a combination of Bourbon, red wine, and Phillips Beer casks. Inspired by our Vancouver Island coastal forests, shaped by woods and waters, this smooth sipper is a unique capture of the rugged beauty of our home, laced with Pacific salinity. Find it online.

PAPA PARRA’S FAMILY PROJECT

Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador Cinsault 2019, Itata, Chile. $49.99

From THE Terroir Doctor’s own family project, this Cinsault is off Pedro Parra’s family vineyards in Itata, the wild south of Argentina. Juicy plum, balsamic, pitch, wild plum, pink peppercorns are held with tight sidings, and finish with thorny resin. Bright and fresh, drawing a grippy tension from the granite, plus textured via 1 year in concrete and old oak casks. A lovely pour along anything grilled. Find it online.

KING OF THE ROSÉS

Domaine de la Mordorée La Dame Rousse Tavel 2024, Rhône Valley, France. $54.99

The family Domaine de la Mordorée estate was created in 1986 by Francis and Christophe Delorme, uniting 60 hectares of organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Southern Rhône Valley. Structural, ageworthy, and bone dry, Tavel is a serious rosé, at its zenith through this expressive, low interventionist producer. Wild raspberry, crushed stones, and scrubby herbs fill this limestone-laced blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Clairette, and Bourboulenc. Ideal for solo sipping, but structured enough easily for foods, this is one of the few cellar-worthy rosés. Find it online.

TO THE END OF THE GALAXY

Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company Dry Hop Series: Galaxy & Saaz 2023, Alberta. $29.99

From Alberta’s Blind Enthusiasm, Galaxy & Saaz is the 5th release in their Dry Hop Series, and the first that is 100% native fermentation. This blend is dry hopped with a unique pairing of hops: Australian Galaxy and Czech Saaz, the combo bringing a fun balance of tropical fruit, ripe juiciness, florals, spice, and wild herbs, against a sunny citrus backdrop. Plus it won Canada Silver at the 2025 World Beer Awards, so that’s cheers worthy right there. 7.4% abv. Find it online.
