Naramata, BC | JoieFarm Winery is winery on the beautiful Naramata Bench. We have been internationally recognized for our aromatic whites, mouth-watering rosé and award winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For the past 15 years we have been an active participant in the local food and wine culture of the Canadian Pacific North West.

Requirements (inclusive but not limited to)

– Results-based hard sales skills

– Experience in hospitality

– Ability to calmly cope in a high-paced team environment

– Ability to safely lift 50lbs

– Serving It Right Certified

– WSET Level II or higher

– Second language is an asset

– Professionalism, maturity, grace and confidence

– Project a polished and professional outward image in both dress and manners

– Ability to work in a team and independently

– Serving It Right Certified

– Ability to be comfortable standing for 6 – 7 hours

– Efficient worker and ability to problem solve

– Outstanding communication and customer service skills with an ability to adapt to diverse levels of guest knowledge

– Comfort presenting in front of large groups

Daily Responsibilities (inclusive but not limited to):

– Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospitality space including tasting rooms, walkways, restrooms, and picnic area;

– Ensuring the tasting bars are well stocked, free of clutter, and ready to receive visitors;

– Host winery guests with confidence and enthusiasm;

– Correctly communicate Joie’s winemaking style, operations, and curate a memorable experience to the guest’s knowledge level;

– Act as ambassador to Okanagan’s food and wine culture with personal experience and recommendations.

– Thoroughly commence closing duties at end of shift to set the next day up for service.


Position: Tasting Room Shift Lead
Employment Dates: Mid April 2018 – Mid October 2018

Our hospitality facility is designed for a fast-paced, efficient, and high-level of hospitality experience. In this position you will work directly with other shift leads and the Operations Manager to continue this level of service. The Tasting Room Shift Lead is responsible for the following tasks:

1. Complete daily cash-out reports and submit to Operations Manager;

2. Work with Operations Manager and Owner to train, and lead tasting room retail associates;

3. Order and organize supplies and merchandise;

4. Record and reconcile monthly inventory;

5. Act as facilitator between back-end logistics and front-end execution;

6. Work with internal team members to maintain team morale, and excellent customer service;

7. Work with internal team members to maintain high-level of aesthetic in tasting room, Picnique, and public spaces; and

8. Act as liaison between Picnique team and Joie team.

The individual filling this roll will focus on logistical running of the tasting room space. The successful candidate will possess the following:

– Results-based hard sales skills

– Experience in hospitality

– Ability to calmly cope in a high-paced team environment

– ability to lead a team to sell by example and be collaborative with other Shift Leads

– Formal wine training (WSET 2 or equivalent)

– Minimum 3 years in management position

– Career of hospitality experience in Tasting Rooms or comparable

– Ability to safely lift 50lbs

– Ability to work in a fast-pasted environment

– Good physical stamina with the ability to stand for 6 – 7 hours

– Serving It Right Certified

– Second language is an asset

– Professionalism and maturity

– High-level of execution and attention to detail

– Efficient worker and ability to problem solve

– Outstanding communication and customer service skills

This is a seasonal hourly position to commence in April 2018 until October 2018.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
