The GOODS from House Wine

Vancouver, BC | Recently, a dear client of house wine introduced founders Michaela Morris and Michelle Bouffard to a breakthrough cancer research project, identified as the Lactic Acid Suppression Theory Project, or LAST Project. Developed by B.C. scientists, it could possibly revolutionize the treatment of cancer. “The research [The LAST Project] is doing could have a dramatic effect on cancer treatment – and as we have all been touched by cancer in one way or another, house wine simply needed to be involved,” says Bouffard. Such an extraordinary project warrants an equally EPIC fundraiser. So, house wine reached out to their clients, and a number of esteemed collectors generously donated some spectacular wines, totaling well over $70,000!

The company has organized a monumental tasting of Bordeaux’ legendary 1982 vintage, including the region’s most renowned châteaux. This is a once in a lifetime chance to try all the top wines from this iconic vintage, a remarkable evening for a truly worthy cause. It will take place on Saturday, June 7th at Hawksworth Restaurant and will be available to just 15 guests.

The evening will begin with a reception, featuring n/v Krug, ‘Grand Cuvée’ Brut Champagne. The team at Hawksworth will then serve a multi-course gourmet dinner in their elegant York Room to pair with these spectacular wines. Some of the 13 Bordeaux of the evening include: The Left Bank’s 1st Growths – Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Margaux and Château Haut-Brion; La Mission Haut-Brion rated 100 points by Robert Parker; St. Emillon’s top ranked wines Château Ausone and Château Cheval Blanc; Pomerol’s superstars (and the most expensive wines of Bordeaux) Château Pétrus and Château Le Pin poured from magnums. The evening will conclude with 1967 Château d’Yquem from Sauternes.

“This is an opportunity that will only come along once in your lifetime, to try not just one, but all 13 of Bordeaux’ top chateaux, side by side, from such an illustrious vintage. It will be an unforgettable night.” – Michaela Morris
