The GOODS from Chambar

Vancouver, BC | Come one, come all! On Friday, July 21, Chambar restaurant is hosting its annual medieval feast to celebrate Belgian National Day. In honour of his heritage, and Chambar’s vibrant cultural roots, Chef/Owner Nico Schuermans is set to cook up a feast of 8 birds. This debaucherous dining experience will be rounded out with communal tables loaded with family style platters.

History buffs will recognize Belgium’s national holiday as the day that Leopold the First took the constitutional oath as the first King of Belgium on July 21, 1831. For one night only, indulge with Chambar to honour this momentous occasion in Belgian history. Details after the jump…

Medieval style costumes and furs are deemed festive, but not essential. Please note that due to the traditional nature of this celebration, vegetarian options and cutlery will not be available (neither were orthodox in 1831).

Guests are encouraged to reserve their seat early for what promises to be no-fuss, hands-on dining at its finest. The festivities kick-off at 7:00pm sharp with seats priced at $95 per person. For reservations please visit: https://www.chambar.com/store/events/.

Chambar offers a unique pairing of Belgian and North African influences. Wherever possible, organic and local ingredients are combined to create fantastic food that reflects the seasons. The menu is a diverse offering of appetizers, moule frites, and main courses of lamb, duck, and venison. A variety of Belgian beers are also available, and can be paired with any item on the menu. At the bar, an award winning cocktail list boasts an extensive array of infused spirits and fresh local fruit. The long walnut bar is perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner dinner drink or to catch up with old friends. In the dining room blood red booths are high enough to allow for privacy, and maybe just a hint of debauchery, while Italian designed chairs and an eclectic and rotating art collection complement Chambar’s heritage surroundings beautifully. Open for breakfast, lunch, brunch & dinner 8am – late.
