Blue Mountain Vineyard Opens Its Okanagan Falls Tasting Room For The Season

10

The GOODS from Blue Mountain

Okanagan Falls, BC | Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars is pleased to announce its tasting room is now open for the season. Blue Mountain was one of the first Canadian wineries to make wines using only grapes grown at its own estate. Furthermore, the winery’s goal has always been to craft wines that express the unique landscape and climate of their origin. There is, then, no more fitting way to experience the resulting award-winning wines than to enjoy them right where they were made. The winery is located in a truly spectacular Okanagan Valley setting, and the tasting room takes full advantage of this, with large windows that offer spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards and the mountains beyond. It will be open daily from 11:00am to 5:00pm until it closes for the season in October.

As well, on August 5th the winery will a host a convenient and enjoyable way for customers to pick up Blue Mountain wines previously purchased online. The pick-up social will include food and live music; if you would like to attend, please RSVP to bluemountain [at] bluemountainwinery.com or 250-497-8244. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

    About Blue Mountain

    6
Blue Mountain is a family run vineyard and winery located in the picturesque South Okanagan Valley, overlooking Vaseaux Lake. The Mavety family has farmed this fertile bench since 1971 and founded the winery in 1991, with a commitment to sustainable viticulture practices and using exclusively estate-grown grapes.

    The Philosophy

    7
Blue Mountain strives to produce complex, age-worthy wines, consistent in style while allowing the expression of both the terroir and the individual season. The grapes that are harvested for Blue Mountain wines are sourced solely from its own vineyard. In the winery, Matt combines new technology with traditional techniques. The wines are handled minimally to ensure that the delicacy and intensity of flavours cultivated in the vineyard are expressed in the wine. French oak barrels are used in the cellar to soften and add complexity. All of these factors combine to result in a style and finesse fitting to the varietals. The 16,000-case yearly production consists of Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and four méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines, all from estate grown grapes.
