Vancouver, BC | Fanny Bay Oysters is looking for culinary talent that can help elevate our bustling Vancouver Oyster Bar and provide a voice for our brand. Our company is family owned and operated by Taylor Shellfish and is all about tide-to-table excellence, showcasing our shellfish as well as other seasonal and sustainable seafood for our customers that join us from all over the world. We operate in an elevated, but laid-back west coast atmosphere of 100 seats where customers can enjoy approachable yet unique dishes that highlight the best of the Pacific Northwest. Our Michelin recommended Fanny Bay Oyster Bar is the heart of our Vancouver operations and acts as a truly unique space where our customers can engage with our brand on multiple different levels including in our dining room, at the raw bar, or even in our retail market.
Our Executive Chef would be responsible for leading our back of house oyster bar operations including: building menus, scheduling, hiring, training kitchen staff, assisting catering/large party buyouts with menu planning and prep. As we host an extensive raw bar, we would like our Executive Chef to work hand in hand with the front of house/shucking team to ensure quality and presentation standards are met for all food being handled in the front as well as in the kitchen. This position reports directly to our Chief of Operations and works in conjunction with the Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market management team.
We are looking for someone with experience that can handle a multifaceted position that also includes doing media appearances, curating signature events, and supporting our retail locations with recipes and products for creating a consistent throughline across our three locations.
