The Goods from Provence Marinaside
Vancouver, BC | For its first Cellar Series dinner of the year, join Provence Marinaside on Sunday February 8, as it shines the spotlight on exquisite wines from award-winning Tawse Winery which is located on Ontario’s Niagara Escarpment.
The six-course dinner, featuring many wines not normally available in BC, is priced at $175/pp (including taxes, fees and service charges).
Last summer, Provence Marinaside’s Wine Director Joshua Carlson visited Tawse Winery to personally select the wines for this dinner as well as the ones included in Provence’s Dine Out Vancouver Menu.
“I have an immense respect for Tawse Winery and its Head Winemaker Jessica Otting. What I like about Tawse, and moreover Ontario wines, is the amazing acidity and typicity offered in each bottle. Wineries from the Niagara Escarpment usually don’t need to use irrigation because of a good source of groundwater. Jessica and the team at Tawse, create unique vineyard and terroir specific wines using low interventionist methods with commitment to preserving the land they farm,” comments Carlson.
Each course has been thoughtfully designed to highlight balance, freshness, and classic French technique, while the wine pairings showcase Tawse’s commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. Expect a progression from bright, expressive whites to elegant cool-climate reds, each chosen to complement the flavours on the plate. Throughout the evening special guest Jessica Otting will guide guests through the menu and pairings offering insight into the interplay of the dishes and the wines.
If you can’t attend the February 8 winemaker dinner, Provence will also be featuring each of these wines by the glass on its wine list during the Dine Out Vancouver Festival January 21 through February 8.
Seats for this very exclusive dinner are limited. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet Ms. Otting and experience these unique organic wines from Ontario’s Niagara Escarpment. Pre-paid reservations are required and can be made online through Open Table.
