The Goods from Provence Marinaside
In a celebration of friendship, collaboration, and shared vision, Provence Marinaside and Haywire Winery are proud to announce the release of an ultra-limited (only 504 bottles) traditional-method Brut Nature Sparkling Wine. The wine will be available starting at the end of May by the glass ($19) and the bottle ($80). “We wanted the wine to be electric, bright with high acidity – something that would scream patio and oysters,” says Provence’s Wine Director, Joshua Carlson. “We plan on including it in our BC Mimosa Flight, as well as a celebratory sip for anniversaries and birthdays. It’s also the perfect accompaniment for a casual get together with friends – after work, on a weekend or with brunch. It will add sparkle to any occasion.”
Born from a spirited brainstorming session between the Haywire team and Carlson, the project reflects a shared commitment to precision winemaking, thoughtful hospitality, and a deep respect for Okanagan fruit. “We wanted a wine that would integrate seamlessly with Provence’s menu, something versatile, bright, and structured enough to move across a range of dishes,” comments Matt Dumayne, Chief Winemaker at Haywire Winery. The collaboration is also rooted in the long friendship between Haywire co-founder Christine Coletta and Provence Marinaside proprietor Jean-Francis Quaglia—a relationship that has connected the two organizations across decades of shared projects, dinners, and mutual support within British Columbia’s wine and hospitality community. “This wine represents years of partnership and trust between our teams. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that relationship expressed so clearly in the glass” comments Coletta.
Crafted from 100% organically farmed Summerland fruit, the wine is composed of 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay, harvested by hand on September 23 and 28, 2020. Fermentation occurred across a trio of vessels—foudre, concrete eggs, and stainless steel—before tirage bottling on February 26, 2021.
After 62 months en tirage, the wine will be disgorged on May 5, 2026, and finished with zero dosage, allowing the vineyard and vintage to speak with clarity and precision. The resulting wine is taut, mineral, and finely structured—an uncompromising Brut Nature sparkling wine that highlights both the energy of the 2020 growing season and the patience required for extended lees aging. “This bottle represents the spirit of collaboration between our teams,” says Carlson. “It’s a wine shaped by conversation, curiosity, and a shared belief in what Okanagan sparkling wine can become.”
Adorning the bottle is a custom-designed label created by Town Hall Brands who have represented Haywire for many years and are well-known in the wine industry for the excellence of their marketing and design work. The design incorporates elements representing both Haywire and Provence brands, their colour pallets, and a nod to Provence’s waterside location.
