Father’s Day Côte de Boeuf at The Mackenzie Room

The GOODS from The Mackenzie Room

Vancouver, BC | Growing up, Chef Sean’s father was always a self-proclaimed ‘meat and potatoes’ kind of guy. With that in mind, Sean has decided to pay homage to his father’s tastes and offer an experience at The Mackenzie Room that would do his father proud.

The Côte De Boeuf platter will include a 32 oz bone-in, 42 day dry aged rib steak from Hopcott farms in Pitt Meadows. It will be served with double baked potatoes topped with guanciale, taleggio cheese and green onions along with charred broccoli, oyster mushrooms, maitake mushrooms and cipollini onions over a broccoli purée and finished with a green peppercorn and cognac sauce. The platter is priced at $170 and is intended to be shared.

“The inspiration for this dish comes from my Dad,” explains chef Sean Reeve, “he’s always been a meat and potatoes kind of guy, so there’s no better way to celebrate the man who drove me to my first restaurant job interview than with a meal like this.”
