Vancouver, BC | We are a small business making craft ice cream, in-store. Yes, that’s right! Homemade ice cream! We take pride in using local suppliers, producing delicious ice cream and being environmentally responsible. We are looking for and scoopers and a store manager. The latter is a full time, long-term position. Training will occur this spring and responsibilities and role will develop accordingly. Rain or Shine employees…

As a member of the Rain or Shine team you will be responsible for…

– running front of house operations
– organizing staff schedule
– hiring staff and managing staffing levels
– managing inventory and ordering
– overseeing the team of scoopers and delegating tasks accordingly
– interacting with customers
– serving scoops, sundaes and shakes with enthusiasm and precision!
– following all health guidelines, specific training provided

A good candidate has the following……

– flexible and can handle fast paced environment
– leadership qualities and great communication skills
– professional, friendly attitude

– food safe level 1 training (obtained before starting date)

Compensation to be determined based on experience and qualifications.

– $11.50 hour starting wage + tips with merit based raises.

About The Business

Rain or Shine Ice Cream is a bunch of fun loving people who believe ice cream should be consumed in Vancouver rain or shine! Located in Kits, our shop is open 7 days a week scooping up fresh ice cream made in-store. Our ice cream starts with local dairy from Birchwood Dairy in the Fraser Valley. We then add only whole ingredients to each batch with a focus on fresh and local ingredients where possible…. Hazelnuts from Agassiz, Berries from the Valley. Craft Beer from Vancouver, Honey from Langley and the list goes on!

We pride ourselves on making everything from scratch from our toppings to our waffle cones to our ice cream mix-ins. We make it all in-house using fresh, natural and local or organic ingredients whenever possible.

In store we have 15 flavours at all times, 10 Keepers and 5 Seasonal Flings that we rotate often. A couple of our specialties include our fresh waffle cones baked right before your eyes and Taco Tuesdays, where you can get a waffle cone taco with your choice of ice cream and topping.

From the start our shop has been powered with renewable energy from Cowpower, which is a great fit for our business, supporting small scale power generation on local farms using cows waste. Cows are awesome! All our packaging is compostable, and we’re proud our shop barely generates 1 bag of garbage a week! These and other efforts help us be as low impact as possible, a key value of ours.
