The GOODS from Milano Coffee

Vancouver, BC | Just in time for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, Vancouver’s Milano Coffee is offering something for the aspiring gold medal winner in everyone. The Gold Medal Espresso Tasting Trio, a flight of three gold medal winning espressos, is available for $6.50 for at all three Milano Coffee locations. The Gold Medal selection, as awarded by the International Coffee Tasting association, includes La Futura, Lucky 13 and Nuovo – all three complex and masterfully blended espressos signature to Milano Coffee’s Master Roaster, Brian Turko.

First in line is La Futura, a luscious, aromatic and intricately complex blend of 10 premium Arabica varietals. With vanilla and floral notes, it’s a smooth combination which leaves a lingering toffee aftertaste. Next up is Lucky 13, an extremely technical mix of, you guessed it, 13 coffee bean varietals expertly blended to create a dynamic and delicious espresso fusion. Rounding out the gold medal line-up is Nuovo, a marriage of eight premium rain forest, small farm and shade grown varietals creating one to die for espresso blend.

This artfully crafted team of winners is among eight of the high quality espresso blends available on tap at any of the three Milano Coffee espresso lounge locations around Vancouver. Come on in and get a taste for gold this Olympic season with Milano Coffee and the Gold Medal Espresso Tasting Trio.

ABOUT MILANO COFFEE

131-Milano--coffee-extend

The Milano taste was developed from a century of artisanship in the Italian coffee tradition. This distinguished taste comes from the skill of the torrefazzioni – a secret method roasting and blending, closely guarded, personally taught, and handed down generation to generation.

With west coast roots and Italian soul, Brian and Linda Turko, the founders of Milano Coffee, have been making days a little better by sharing their passion for artisan coffee and espresso in Vancouver for over three decades. A master roaster, trained in the Torrefazzioni method, Brian’s La Futura espresso won international recognition with a gold medal at Italy’s fourth annual International Coffee Tasting Competition in 2013.

Brian and Linda, also innovated when they introduced Vancouver’s first espresso tasting bar at their West 8thcafé in 2008. At Milano’s stylish espresso lounge in Gastown (which opened in 2011), guests may sample eight different espresso blends – on tap, everyday. The finest espresso machines in the world help make it happen: The M39 La Cimbali Thermo Drive and Victoria Arduino’s ‘Adonis’. This technology combined with Milano’s barista talent, and distinctive espresso taste creates an espresso experience 100 years in the making.

With three espresso lounges in Vancouver, guests can discover the artistry of Milano’s world-class espresso right at home.

  1. Fan of the coffee, but I never was a fan of the name. Because ironically, Milano has some of the worst espresso in any major city in Italy.
