Langri-La | Place, Slang | Langara College. An appropriate term of ironic endearment employed by past and present Langara students in reference to their own institution, and thus their own institutionalization. It is an idyllic hideaway for a post-secondary set that has chosen to dabble in the desolate wastes of university transfer (otherwise known as “high school with ashtrays”).

Usage: “Before I went UBC, I spent two years adrift in the wilderness out at Langri-La.”
