Steel & Oak Brewing Co. to Host ‘Queens Park Classic’ Fourth Edition on Saturday, April 4th

New Westminster, BC | Steel & Oak Brewing Co. is excited to announce the return of the Queens Park Classic, taking place Saturday, April 4, 2026, as part of the S&O Beer Run Race Series. This standout 5K event invites runners of all levels to experience one of New Westminster’s most scenic and vibrant green spaces in a course designed for both challenge and fun. The event will take place from 11am to 3pm, with post-race festivities open to all.

A Course That Shows Off the Best of Queen’s Park

Participants will test themselves on a hilly 5K route featuring a mix of road and trail terrain. The course will lead runners through lush, forested areas, offer panoramic views of the local mountains, and include a spirited ascent up a short steep hill. The course is designed to keep runners energized and engaged from start to finish, offering both scenic beauty and satisfying challenges. The perfect mix of flow, challenge and nature.

Supporting KidSport New West

The Queens Park Classic proudly supports KidSport New West, ensuring that funds raised help children in the local community gain access to sports opportunities. All contributions remain within New Westminster, helping kids “get off the sidelines and into a season of sport.”

Post-Race Celebration

The festivities extend beyond the run, with Steel & Oak hosting a vibrant beer garden from 11am to 3pm. Open to finishers, supporters, and curious onlookers alike, the beer garden will feature an array of S&O beers, a BBQ, and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners in the male, female and non-binary categories, plus a prize raffle will give the opportunity for any runner to win something.

Registration

Runners are encouraged to register early for the Queens Park to secure their spot which is available at sobeerrun.ca. Entry to the post-race beer garden is free, to allow friends, family and spectators the chance to join in the fun.

It’s become a true highlight in the community calendar. For 2026, we’ve made some exciting changes to ensure we continue delivering an exceptional experience. From an updated, more engaging course to a stronger prize structure and elite entry option, along with a few subtle but meaningful enhancements as well, we’re confident this year will be our best yet.”
