Lee’s | Legend | A tiny but iconic doughnut shop located just inside the south-central door to Granville Island Public Market. It is famous for its Honey Dip doughnuts, which are served warm every day. (We are also partial to the Bavarian Cream). Lee’s is the oldest doughnut producer in Vancouver. Alan and Betty-Ann Lee launched the highly aromatic shop when the Public Market did in 1979. Though Alan Lee passed away at the age of 70 in 2014, his delicious legacy lives on.
Usage: “One doesn’t leave Granville Island Public Market without at least a half dozen Honey Dips from Lee’s. What we’re you thinking?”

I think the best tasting value on Granville Island is the seasoned meatloaf from Tenderland Meats at $5.99 a pop.

I mark the arrival of each December with a trip to Lee’s Donuts to a gingerbread doughnut (OK, maybe more than one!). I can’t understand why these aren’t sold-out each and every day –they’re so delicious!
Second best month of the year is October when Lee’s rolls out the pumpkin spice!
PS. I’ve suggested a number of times that they make an apple cider doughnut. I still wait and hope.
