Originally established in Vancouver, La Taqueria Victoria opened in February 2016, specializing in authentic Mexican tacos. Inspired by vibrant and flavourful street food, traditional recipes use fresh ingredients like Ocean Wise seafood, and local and seasonal meats and vegetables. Homemade salsas and pickles are created with tradition in mind, and tortillas are made in-house with non-GMO corn flour. Day of the Dead, or Dia de Muertos, is a widely celebrated Mexican holiday held every year from October 31st to November 2nd. To honour the dead, altars are decorated with candles, flowers, colourful sugar skulls, and a special bread called pan de muerto. Also placed on the altars are favourite foods of the departed, such as fruit and other produce, and traditional Mexican dishes. Traditional celebrations include festive parades with music and performances.

ABOUT LA TAQUERIA
La Taqueria was born in 2009 as a pinche taco stand that could replicate the taste and feel of street tacos around Mexico. We make our tacos from traditional recipes with local, organic and sustainable products whenever possible. Our menu offers different types of fillings that can be served as a taco (soft tortilla, made locally) or quesadilla.
