After a couple of successful, wrinkle-free dry-runs, Field & Social opened this morning at 415 Dunsmuir St. in the old Labour Temple building (1911). The new, salad-focused eatery from Stephen Collins, Stefenie Milosz, Moe Samieian and Ali Pejman seats 30 people and boasts more hard rights than a Rubik’s Cube. The clean, modern, severely Scandinavian aesthetic is softened by a flood of natural light that makes the copper piping and light fixtures glow molten and causes the marble facings to shine like dusty bergs. It’s a beautiful space, without a doubt, with tight as hell branding to match. Top marks to Ruth Janekelowitz of Janks Design Group for the look (see also Earnest Ice Cream) and to Lucy & Guy Browning of Workhouse Collective for the mark.
