Vancouver, BC | As our beloved chef Ben embarks on a new adventure, Dachi is excited to open the door to a passionate new leader to head the kitchen at our East Van restaurant and wine bar.

As a gathering spot for our community, every dish is made with the same care our farmers take to grow the food and every glass is poured with a story. We’re searching for a head chef who not only brings culinary creativity to the kitchen but also embodies the heart and soul of Dachi.

Our ideal candidate is someone who loves restaurants, and the dynamic nature of the job – from organizing orders and inventory, to working service with a team. They thrive on creating delicious, seasonal dishes that surprise and delight. We hold close our relationships with the wonderful farms and suppliers we work with to create a fresh, rotating menu. But beyond the food, we’re looking for a leader — someone who can inspire and uplift our close-knit team, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that makes our kitchen a place of joy and innovation.

This is a salaried position with paid extended holiday time and a share of gratuities. Opportunities for further education – whether in food or beverage – are available, as we believe that nurturing various interests and exposure outside of our specialities makes for unexpected (and delicious) outcomes. For someone interested in understanding business further, we want to share our knowledge of back-end operations, understanding the numbers, and administration experience. We are passionate about small business and nurturing growth and development with those we work with. We’re looking for someone to join the management team and grow the business alongside GM Sarah Doerksen and co-owners Miki Ellis and Stephen Whiteside.
