Selene Aegean Bistro Unveils New Spring Menu

The Goods from Selene Aegean Bistro

Vancouver, BC | Hastings-Sunrise restaurant Selene Aegean Bistro is celebrating the arrival of spring with a new moon and a new menu to capture the coastal culinary philosophy of the Aegean. Created by co-head chefs Adrian Nate and Arish Dastoor, guests can expect dishes that are light, bright, and complemented by fresh herbs. Reservations are now available online.

“Each menu at Selene reflects a new chapter, and spring is all about renewal and growth,” says Yianni Kerasiotis, who co-owns Selene Aegean Bistro and several other neighbourhood favourites, Nammos Estiatorio, and AMA, with his brother Petro Kerasiotis. “At a recent staff tasting, I was thoroughly impressed by Adrian and Arish’s dishes. The flavours all naturally come together on the plate. We can’t wait for our guests to give them a try.”

New additions to the spring menu begin with Meze, such as Carrot Hummus with black garlic mushroom XO and toasted pumpkin seeds, and Lakerda featuring kelp-cured amberjack with strawberry ouzo broth. For larger plates to share, highlights include: Octopus Manestra with spring pea orzo and myzithra; Prawn Hilopites with preserved lemon and pepper butter; and Arctic Char with spinach and avgolemono.

Pastry chef Calia Pacle’s new creations include a Carob Cheesecake with walnut & coconut oats, and carob ganache, as well as Mahalepi with fig infused custard, macerated strawberries, and brown sugar kataifi.

“For this menu, we wanted to focus on the early seasonality of spring and letting each ingredient shine in its own way,” explains Nate. “We’re layering in herbs, acidity, and more texture to create dishes that reflect the transition into a new season.”

The menu continues to follow Selene’s signature format, moving from Meze to Plates, designed for sharing. Guests can also opt for the tasting menu, personally curated by the kitchen team.

“In the Aegean, meals are usually shaped by the rhythm of the seasons, of the sea, and of gathering together with friends and family,” adds Petro. “This rhythm is what guides us at Selene.”

Selene Aegean Bistro is located at 360 Penticton Street and is open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to late. Brunch is available on Saturday and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are available online. Walk-ins always welcome.
