Shroomy Potato Oysters With Truffle Aioli At “West”

IMG_8058

Stealing the show at the start of a quick lunch at West today were these delicious potato-crusted Sawmill Bay oysters on mushroom soil-covered duxelle. Under it all was a generous plop of truffle aioli that turned the entirety sublime. If you find yourself in the South Granville area before November is out, look for these little gems on the special shellfish menu. $5.50 each and worth it.
