Summerland, BC | The snow has melted and spring is in full swing at Sage Hills Estate Winery in Summerland. The family-owned and operated estate winery, entering its eighth season, has been buzzing with activity as of late. The Thrussell family just completed bottling their 2018 wines and have officially reopened their tasting room this month and are excited to share some new offerings and announcements for 2019.

Now at the helm for his third vintage as head winemaker and vineyard manager, Keenan Thrussell is making his mark. No one is as familiar with the rolling hills of vines at Sage Hills than the winemaker who grew up in them, this awareness is apparent in the wine itself. Keenan has used the close relationship he has with the vines, along with his interest in low intervention and natural winemaking, to produce a new line up of Sage Hills wines that are a true expression of the land the Thrussell family has proudly been stewards of for over a decade.

Among these new terroir-driven wines is the Sage Hills, unfined and unfiltered, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend. This new wine is a summer day in a glass. It is a beautiful expression of both varietals showing notes of guava, passion fruit, grass, and lemon with nice acidity and a lengthy finish. The wine is now available for sale in the tasting room and is a must buy patio companion this spring and summer.

Sage Hills has also made some exciting additions to their Wine Club with new, limited release, exclusive wines for members. The family is also hosting members of the Wine Club for a mid-Summer party at the winery in August with food, wine and music.
