by Michelle Sproule | The Juice Truck softly opens their new Yaletown location tomorrow in the old Nice Vice spot at 1022 Mainland Street. The plan is to work out the kinks over the weekend (with a soft opening going down Thursday) and launch proper on Tuesday, May 23. I just snuck a peek inside and found the crew – Zach Berman, Meghan Parks Berman, Ryan Slater – hard at work with the finishing touches.
The 14 seater is 1,400 sqft with 1/2 of that dedicated to prep/kitchen. It’ll offer the same menu as the original to start (juices, smoothies, gluten free and vegan snacks and salads) but in July they will introduce vegan soft serve ice cream and milkshakes (including a healthy version of ‘cookies and cream’). They will also be trying their hand at vegan croissants and pouring kombucha on tap. Hours will be from 7:30am to 6pm. The art is by Renee Gouin (cool stuff), the greenery is by Green Stems, and the overall design is by Glasfurd & Walker.
Also on the horizon…The Juice Truck is going to the burbs. First stop: Steveston. The suburban concepts will offer all the regular Juice truck goodness as well as expanded offerings of complimentary goodnesses like Cartems vegan doughnuts and Earnest Ice cream’s vegan ice cream. More on this soon. In the meantime, take a look inside their imminent Yaletown operation.
