Cool Thing We Want #337: Lamp Shade Made From The Fabric Of Canada Place’s 5 Sails

Remember these unique Listen | Closely lamp shades from last year’s IDSWest? Designers at Large created them for ReFab:Design for Sail, a partnership between Canada Place and Vancouver Architecture For Humanity Society. They were made in an effort to repurpose fabric from Canada Place’s old sails. The limited number of shades – 75 – are available from local designer Kevin Wharton or at Cocoon Home Designs at 7th and Manitoba ($150 per). All proceeds will benefit HomeStart Foundation, a furniture bank that provides essential home furnishings to people in need (over 100 homes have been furnished so far in 2012).
