The GOODS from The Chinatown Experiment

Vancouver, BC | November brings another unique listing of events to The Chinatown Experiment, starting with the Bingo Bill Exchange and wrapping up with Citizen Grace (with plenty of awesomeness in between). The following all take place in our little pop-up shop in Chinatown…

October 25 – November 5 | Bingo Bill Exchange | Vancouverites Nina Watts and Ann Klaveness travelled to Kyrgyzstan last March to find the best examples of local handiwork and to commission more. The pop-up shop will feature brightly coloured and soft Shydraks as well as other furnishings and wearables from Kyrgyzstan such as ottomans, cushions, hats, scarves, slippers, bracelets and more. Prices will range from $15 to $3000.

November 8 – 24 | Forest & Waves | Forest & Waves began in 2012 as a way to combine the maker’s love for design with his experiences backpacking and surfing around the world. The company’s name pays homage to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest: the smell of cedar, the waves hitting the shore, and the winds rustling throughout. It also reflects Ed’s childhood growing up in a seaside village in Taiwan.

November 26 | The Big Help | The Big Help is a series of drawings based on giving directions. It explores the informal process whereby people are able to define markers as a way of illustrating a path. Casually recounting landmarks, buildings, objects, shapes, even colours, each direction brackets out something memorable or important about how to get somewhere. Open from 6pm – 10pm.

November 29 – 30 | Citizen Grace | Fresh from the successful Neighbourhood Collective shop, local online fashion retailer Citizen Grace returns for their second solo pop-up.
