RV Alley | Place | The strip of Malkin Avenue adjacent to Strathcona Park popular with people living out of camper vans, converted buses, and RVs. RV Alley is popular on account of its close proximity to the heart of the city, its lack of NIMBY whiners (no housing for at least a block in every direction), and its immediate access to the park’s public washrooms. It’s a different visual representation of Vancouver’s deepening housing crisis than, say, a homeless encampment, but it’s equal proof of how hard it is to live in our “most liveable city”.
Usage: “I sometimes think I’ll see Chris Farley’s motivational speaker character Matt Foley emerge from one of the vans parked on RV Alley…”
