Harris Paints | Place | The colloquial name for Ted Harris Paints, a fixture on the Downtown Eastside located at 757 East Hastings. Originally opened in 1938 as a bicycle store, it later became a favourite of Strathcona artists and is known for its hand-lettered signage on the front and iconic neon sign. The store closed up shop in 2009, and Ted Harris’ son, Bob, sold the building to Kris Rennie (son of real estate marketer Bob Rennie) in 2012.
