Dachi is Welcoming Gary’s for an Exceptional One-Evening-Only Collab, Sept. 15th

The day has come: This coming week, Dachi is breaking its usual routine by opening on a Monday to welcome their West Side friends from Gary’s. One night, two kitchens, and a menu that pulls together the best of both — it’s the kind of match-up you want to factor into your plans.

For this exceptional occasion, Chefs Mat Bishop (Gary’s) and Jiwon Seo (Dachi) are putting together a collaborative menu built around seasonal produce and a few iconic dishes from both kitchens. But what makes this night especially worth showing up for is the mutual warmth and knack for a good time – and lack of pretension – that both crews consistently bring to the table. Drinks are a joint effort too, so come thirsty as well as hungry.

This is walk-in only, starting at 5pm and winding down when the food runs out — so don’t dawdle. Collaborations like this don’t happen every day, and you can bet it’ll be a good time.

WHY WE CARE

Individually, Dachi and Gary’s have provided us with some memorable dining experiences. Both restaurants provide laid back vibes without skimping on attention to detail – on the plate and hospitality-wise – and both have demonstrated a genuine respect for the ingredients in their kitchen, that comes out in dishes that are as fun to eat as they are delicious. We love it when kitchen crews, like Dachi and Gary’s, come together in mutual appreciation. It comes out in the food, and it does Vancouver’s F&B community good. More of this please!
