Vancouver, BC | Following the successful opening of Provisions in Whistler, Toptable will open its newest location in the heart of Kitsilano. Provisions is your all-day cafe with everything you need throughout the day perfect for dine in or take away. We will open early in the morning with fresh baked goods, an exceptional coffee and tea program and breakfast sandwiches. Throughout the afternoon and evening, we offer made-to-order salads & sandwiches, exceptional pastries and baked goods in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
Provisions Kitsilano is currently hiring for two integral roles: Cafe Manager and Kitchen Manager.
Who you are: The Cafe Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring a superior guest experience through excellent hospitality and thoughtful service. The Cafe Manager must possess strong leadership and communication skills, a passion for hospitality and building strong performing teams.
What you’ll do:
Lead all team members in delivering consistently great hospitality to our guests
Collaborate with management team to keep a pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and build a strong base of repeat guests
Consistently offers positive and constructive feedback to all team members to build a strong performing team dedicated to hospitality, and achievement of business goals
Provides coaching and guidance to all team members, ensuring that pathways for growth and development are attainable for all
Fosters a close partnership with the kitchen management team, ensuring alignment on business goals and initiatives
Working closely with all stakeholders to build strong awareness in the local market
Balance daily operational responsibilities with short and long term business goals
Builds an infrastructure and foundation for operational success through clarity of roles, goals, and resources, ensuring that all systems and processes are efficient and accessible
Ensure all fixed assets are in good working condition, oversee preventative maintenance of assets
Liaise with Home Office, leveraging expertise to ensure support for the opening, continued training, and overall communication
Builds trusting relationships with other company leaders to foster communication, collaboration, support, and sharing of best practices
You must have:
3+ years of leadership experience in a similar environment
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in restaurant management
Strong business and financial acumen

Who you are: The Kitchen Manager will work to create unforgettable culinary experiences for our guests in a new space in Kitsilano. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the back of house operations that deliver superior and exemplary service of outstanding food to guests and for the daily supervision and production of culinary operations. The successful candidate has the ability to put together key relational, financial, and leadership ingredients to build a highly motivated team and will have the opportunity to take their career to the next level in an environment like no other.
This role will focus on:
Providing leadership, development, and motivation of team to ensure an exceptional culinary experience through consistent delivery of the highest quality food
Perform opening and closing checklist duties by leading staff, ensuring all operational tasks get completed
Leading the culinary management team to identify, evaluate, and consistently improve service strategies
Overseeing inventory of food product and coordinating product ordering and receiving
Participating in menu planning and development
Overseeing the hiring and training of all culinary team members and maintaining appropriate staffing levels as per business needs
Managing culinary staff, including supervising activities of cooks and stewards
Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness standards following sanitation standards throughout the kitchens to comply with Provincial regulations
Developing strong working relationships with suppliers and benchmarking food costing
You must have:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a kitchen manager or sous at a similar environment.
Equivalent Red Seal certification, a degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time
Inspirational leadership skills and the ability to rally a team to achieve its highest potential, and then driving it to the next level
The ability to create and develop menus that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude
Strong computer proficiency in systems related to the department
The flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
